Located in the center of the Pudong Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone in Shanghai, Meiyuan New Village Neighborhood is one of the new types of urban communities in China; it has enjoyed the fastest economic and social development since the 1990s. Ranging from Yuansheng Road in the east, Zhangyang Road in the south, to the Huangpu River in the northwest, Meiyuan covers an area of 6.8 square kilometers (including 1.3 km² of water area and 5.5 km² of land area). It has a registered population of 120,000, and another 49,000 residents who are from other places. In Pudong, Meiyuan is a medium-sized community, well known as the seat of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower as well as the Jinmao Tower. Thus it has been a “window” for Pudong New Area to display its fruits of community development and community spiritual civilization...
